Got Drugs? Drug Take-Back Day, Saturday, April 28th
Americans can rid their homes of expired or unused prescription or over the counter drugs on April 28 by dropping them off at sites nationwide.
The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) has scheduled another National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day which will take place on Saturday, April 28, 2012, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Our local drop off point is the Lakeway Police Department/Justice Center, 104 Cross Creek, Lakeway.
The DEA established the program to prevent old medicine from falling into unauthorized hands and to keep it from being thrown away and polluting water supplies. The last three Take-Back Days combined removed 995,185 pounds (498.5 tons) of medication from circulation nationwide in the past 13 months.
